Three-Tier Whimsical Wedding Cake Design : How to Fill a Disposable Pastry Bag

Hi, my name is Melissa Maggiore with Alessi
Bakeries in Tampa Florida. I’m going to show you how to fill a disposable pastry bag. Basically
after your tip has already been inserted, you may use one of these white couplers to
actually use as a guiding ring so that way you can interlock, and interchange the different
types of tips that you would like to use, such as this. You’re going to add your tip
to the end, twist it on. Then you’re basically going to take the opening of the bag, curl
it over, wrap it over the palm of your hand, bring it down about half way, stick your other
hand inside to make sure you have a large opening. And then you’re going to basically
insert, butter cream, whip cream, chocolate, whatever you prefer, into your bag, such as this. Make sure you wipe your spatula
clean on the edge of your thumb. Then you’re just going to slowly round parts of the bag
back up, like this, close your disposable bag, and then just give it a little twist.
Squeeze some icing out, make sure it’s ready to go. And that’s how you fill a pastry bag
with butter cream. And my name is Melissa Maggiore with Alessi Bakeries in Tampa Florida.

  1. In fill up my pastry bag up to 2/3 just so I don't have to refill the bag so often. This you can do if you have more experience. But if you are unsure about your hand control, just fill it up halfway.

  2. I'm such an idiot. I put the icing tip AND the cutler in the bag….

OF COURSE the tip would be OUTSIDE the bag…gosh.
