Hey, I’m Buddy Valastro, and this is Fast Cakes, where we make cakes at the speed of life! Today I’m gonna make for you a caramel apple cake, that’s like ‘forget about it!’ So today what I want to do is show you a way to sweeten up any box mix. By adding a little bit of apples and cinnamon sugar to vanilla cake batter, it takes it from like uh okay cake to like ‘I am gonna die if i don’t have more of that cake,’ so let’s go through the ingredients. First, we have our cake mix. Then we have three apples, can be any kind. We carve them, we peel them, we cube them. We got a little bit of cinnamon sugar, we got our dulce de leche, we got two cans of store-bought icing, and me! So, we got three apples. Two are diced up, and one’s for the top. So we peel them, we dice em, and I’m gonna sprinkle them inside our vanilla cake batter right here, bada-bing bada-boom. Don’t be cheaper with the apples, because they’re gonna get nice and soft and they’re gonna release their sugars and it’s gonna be like ‘forget about it.’ Now we’re gonna add some cinnamon sugar.. ahhhh Don’t be cheap with the cinnamon sugar. I just love the smell of it! When this stuff goes airborne it’s like ‘ahhh wake me up.’ How you doing partner? So, now i’m gonna bake our cakes at 350 for say, about 30 to 40 minutes. Alright, now that our cakes have come out of the oven, they cooled down. We’re gonna build our cake. So we’re gonna start with our first layer, and I took some store-bought icing and I added some canned dulce de leche, and we got this beautiful icing, so what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna, squeeze it around, and around, and around. Smooth it out just a little bit. Now I’m gonna to squirt some dulce inside. How you doing? I’m gonna take our top, flip it. Cake’s nice and layered now, bada- bing bada-boom. And I’m gonna ice this puppy up. So I’m gonna put the icing on the outside, go all the way around. Notice how I always use the turntable to ice the cake? Smooth my cake out with my knife. I’m gently gliding my knife across the cake, I’m not ‘ugh ugh ugh’ cuz that’s gonna rip. We don’t want to rip and destroy. Gently glide your knife around the sides, gently, gently, gently. Now I’m just using a metal scraper to scrape the edge. Combing my top here, bada-bing bada-boom, and what I’m gonna do is you can use a cake comb for the sides, but I’m gonna kinda do it a little old-school. I’m just gonna kinda whip my knife around the sides here. I’m just gonna keep spinning it, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, badoom boom boom. So now, what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna cut the bottom of my apple off, I’ll add my stick. I warmed up the caramel a little bit. Ah ha ha… oui oui oui. Mmm put my apple on top. Bada-bing bada-boom. Look at that! Now i’m gonna drizzle on the sides here. So I’m just squeezing a little bit more caramel on top, filling it in, cuz who doesn’t like that caramel on there? I’m just gonna go and smooth that caramel very gently. Now I’m just gonna pipe a little caramel on the bottom, bada-bing bada-boom. Ha ha, gooey caramel! That’s a caramel apple cake, baby! Woo!
