Howard: When it comes to the holidays, nothing
seems to be more welcoming than a platter of homemade cookies. So to help us find the
very best ones, we held our first Christmas Cookie Recipe Contest, and the response was
overwhelming. Here to tell us which cookies were your favorites is our online editor,
Lexi.>>Lexi: Hi Howard and all you cookie lovers.
After reviewing, testing and tasting hundreds of recipes, we narrowed it down to a few finalists.
We then asked you to vote for your favorites. I couldn’t get enough of Karen’s Buttery
Sugar Cookies. The thumbprint of preserves in the middle was really the best part.
>>Howard: Lexi, for me it was a tough choice between the Ginger Crinkles (they had just the right
amount of spice and were really moist) and the Chocolate and Pistachio Dipped Cranberry
Shortbreads, which have a hint of orange that sets them apart.
I don’t know how our readers picked a winner.>>Lexi: Neither do I … all the recipes were
so good. But the most votes went to Rosemary’s Ricotta Almond Cookies.>>Howard: The ricotta cheese makes these really
moist and when teamed up with the almond flavor, it’s easy to see why these took first place.
