Hey guys, it’s Ro! Welcome to another Nerdy Nummies! I thought, today we should honor some social
media platforms. Awhile ago I made some social media cake pops,
and I also made Twitter Tea Biscuits. And I thought we gotta honor one of theses
platforms, so today, Instagram, it’s your turn! I love you, I use you a lot, today we’re
gonna make some Instagram Brownies, let’s get started! The brownie recipe that I’m gonna be using today
is the one from my Nerdy Nummies Cookbook, and today we are going to double
it, we’re going to make a double batch. So, the things you’ll need,
will be: 1 cup of vegetable oil, 1 cup of all purpose flour, 2 cups and 4 tablespoons
of sugar, 1/2 a teaspoon of salt, 1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder,
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 2/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 large
eggs and 2/3 cup of whole milk. And then the things you’ll need to decorate
will be: some regular sized Oreos, mini Oreos, Rainbow Airhead Extremes Bites,
some creamy peanut butter, to make these a chocolate peanut butter brownie,
yummy-yummy-yummy-yummy-yummy! And then 2 cookie cutters, here I have a smaller
circle, and a square. Now let’s put it all together! The first thing we’re gonna do is we are gonna
whisk together our dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl, so we are gonna add our
sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder! Then we’re gonna start some whisky things!
We’re going to whisk together until it’s well combined! Now we’re gonna add in our wet ingredients,
we’re gonna pour in our oil, milk, vanilla extract, and our 2 eggs. Now we’re gonna whisk it together 1 more
time until it’s well combined! It smells delicious! Our brownie batter is all ready, and now we
are gonna prep our pan. So I’m gonna do is, baking spray, parchment
paper, baking spray! So that the brownies won’t stick to the
bottom and they’re really easy to take out. Oh my gosh! This looks amazing!
It smells so good! Now it’s time to bake our brownies. For
the original recipe if you’re doing a single batch you’re gonna bake it at 350
degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, but because we’re doing a double batch,
we’re going to slow bake, we’re going to reduce the heat to 325 and bake for
40-45 minutes, just keep your eye on ‘em! Once the brownies have baked and
had plenty of time to cool, now we’re gonna cut out some squares. If you don’t have a square cookie cutter,
that’s fine, you can just use a sharp cutting knife, just be careful
of your fingers. So I’m gonna take my little cookie cutter,
I’ve got it on top of a little cutting board, and I’m just gonna press down, and
pop ‘em out. And I’m putting it right over here onto
this little baking mat. Oh my gosh, Look at that! That’s gonna be
hard not to take a bite, but we gotta wait, we just gotta wait! OK… Then we’re gonna cut out the rest of our
brownies! Here are our brownie squares, they’re all
cut out, you can use the excess brownies, you know, the crust that was all
the way around that we cut them out of to make brownie pops. You can do whatever
you want with them, for snacks or whatever, but I like to use them to make
Brownie Pops. So… Good! So… Yummy! OK, so the next thing we’re gonna do is
decorate, this is my favorite thing. So you’re gonna take one of these little brownies,
you’re gonna bring him over here. You’re gonna take 1 of your little
Airhead bites, look at that, they’re just perfect! So I’m gonna place him on top, just to eyeball how far up I want to frost the peanut butter, to make it look like the Instagram logo! So in here, in this little plastic decorating
baggie. I just scooped some peanut butter in and I put a number 4 tip for more
control. You don’t need to do this, you can scoop
the peanut butter on top of the brownie and use a little spatula to flatten it out. I’m gonna make the line right below it.
So I’m just gonna go across, do the edges first and then I’m gonna fill it in! Oh my gosh! Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies!
Yes! Our brownies are now chocolate peanut butter
brownies and now we’re gonna add the last decoration, Oreos, we’re using
regular and small, starting with regular. And what you’re gonna do, take your little Oreo
and twist ‘em, ooooh! And then we’re gonna scrape off the yummy
part, we’re gonna scrape off the filling so that it is clean on the back, and
now we’re gonna cut out our circles. They’re almost the right size, I just want
them to be a little bit smaller. So this is where you can use a cookie cutter! Line it up, and I have to put like, all my
body weight Oh! There we go! Then pop him out! And that is gonna be the lens, we are gonna
put that right in the middle of all of our Instagram brownies. Now for the second part you’re
gonna take your little mini Oreos and do the same thing, you’re gonna twist
them apart, ooooh! These are like my size, aw! And you’re just gonna scrape off the good
stuff, aw! This is the sad part! Oooh! But I could eat it! So then it’s happy again! Nom-nom-nom-nom! I’m gonna take a very sharp cutting knife,
be careful, don’t get your fingers, and I’m just gonna cut a square. Then you’re
gonna stick this little guy right up here in the upper right hand corner
to be the little view finders! I thought I was done decorating these, but I was
looking at them and I said hmmmm. It’s missing that little Instagram logo,
what do I got laying around the house? And I know it’s a little weird, but I have
a lot of jellybeans in my house, hence the decor! So I was looking in my cabinets and I found some,
I think they’re root beer flavored. I’ll put a little note down in the description to some brown flavored jelly beans. So if you want to find a little brown jelly bean, you’ll have different options of different
flavors, so I’m just gonna take a little jelly bean and I’m gonna put it right
underneath the rainbow. Doop! Oh my gosh, they’re… That was it! Finishing
touch! Ta-da! Here are the Instagram Brownies that we made
today! They are adorable! They are so easy to make!
