Hey guys, it’s Ro! Welcome to another Nerdy
Nummies! Today I am gonna be making something from
Tetris, because I got so many requests for something Tetris! I got the idea to do
this 8-bit cookie from the lady, Not Your Mommas Cookies. I’ll put a link
down below so you can go check it out. But she made this amazing 8-bit, Nyan cat
cookie, and I was like, I want to do something like that! So today, we are gonna
be making Tetris 8-Bit Cookies! What you’ll need is: First, a fun factory,
this cute little thing I found at Toys R Us and it’s originally made for Play-Doh,
but we’re gonna be pushing sugar cookie dough through, and you’re gonna
have it set on the rectangle setting. 1 sharp knife, a bunch of rainbow food colorings,
you’re gonna need yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, orange, red and black.
1 egg, 1 stick of butter, sugar cookie mix, and a big mixing bowl. Now we’re
gonna put it all together. I’m gonna take electric beater and just
beat this all together. Oh my! Ta-da! This is what it should look like, and
now we’re gonna divide it in 1/2, and we’re gonna dye 1/2 of the cookie dough
black, so get out your black food coloring dye. Now that we’ve divided 1/2 of our cookie dough, we are going to add black food coloring to
all of this. I don’t exactly know how much to put in, just put in a lot. And mix it up. Now that it’s all mixed together, like so,
what you’re gonna do is take a piece of saran wrap, roop! And you’re gonna take
all your cookie dough, it’s gonna be really sticky and kinda wet, just ball it together. Then we’re gonna wrap it up really tight. Boom! And then put it in the fridge
for about 2 hours, now with the other 1/2 of the cookie dough, you’re gonna divide
it into 7 little balls, and then we’re gonna dye each ball the color of the rainbow. So, ROY G BIV plus Pink. Once your dough has had plenty of time to cool down,
mine’s been in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. It’s just chilly enough that we
can run it through the fun factory. It’s time to make some rectangles! I did the math, here’s my design, I just
drew it on a piece of paper, but here’s my 8-bit Tetris design. So you’re gonna need
8 green, 4 red, 4 blue, 4 purple, 4 yellow, 4 orange and 4 pink. And 58 black,
which is gonna be 14-1/2 pumps, because they pump 4 at a time. That’s a
lot of math, let’s just… Let me show you how to do it! OK, we’re gonna start with orange, Because
I like Orange. And you’re just gonna make a little ball,
stick it in there, and push it through. I’ve lined 3 cookie trays with just a sheet
of wax paper to catch all these little guys when they come out. Weroooooo! Oh they’re
so cute! And then you’re just gonna do that with
all of the colors. And, dee-dew! Once you get all of your colors,
you’re going to take the grid and you’re gonna start building from the bottom,
and we’re gonna work our way up, just like this little picture. Beep-beep-beep-beep! Ta-da! We put together all of the little rectangles
from the fun factory. I’ve also put it in the freezer for a few
minutes so it would get pretty hard, like so, and now we’re just going to cut,
cut, cut, cut to make cookie slices. And hope that this works. Take your sharp knife and go. You’re just gonna go straight down. Oh! They’re so cute! Oh my god! Oh my god!
Look how cute that is! And then you’re just gonna put them right
onto your cookie tray. Here we do, here we do! Ta-da! We did it! These cookies actually worked,
they turned out! I’ve never made something with the Fun Factory,
or made an 8-Bit cookie before, so thanks you guys for suggesting it, I had
so much fun! Also, thank you to huckleberry baby, it’s
a store on Etsy, I’ll put a link down below so you can go check it out, if you’re
interested in these really cute aprons. This is a Tetris apron that she made and I
love it! It’s kind of retro and geeky. So I’ll put that link down below so you
can go check it out. Also, if you have any other Nerdy Nummies
ideas, please leave me a comment below and I will do my best to make them happen! And there is a button somewhere, where you

  1. I'm probably going to attempt making this but rolling dough logs in ymy hands or finding something I can use in my kitchen as a substitute. Gosh tetris is so awesome.

  2. Sadly I tried this for a friend's birthday and it was a disaster! The dough was too sticky even after being in the freezer overnight, and since the dough came out in 4 strips they would all stick together

  8. I don't feel like buying the play-doh thing, so the alternative i came up with is rolling the dough to around an eighth of an inch, then cutting it into strips that are also around an eighth of an inch wide. Then you can stack and cut them as shown in the video.

  9.
