How to Make Snickerdoodle Blondies

Today on Sugar Spun Run we’ll be making
Snickerdoodle Blondies. Hey Sugar Spun Baker’s, today I’m sharing one of my
oldest and most favorite recipes from my blog. These snickerdoodle bars have been viral on Facebook. They’ve been shared hundreds and hundreds of times. They are super popular and I thought it was about time
we do a video for them. Now this is a very simple recipe. So to get started, go
ahead and pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Next you are going to
need one cup, or two sticks, of unsalted butter, and you’re going to want to go
ahead and melt this. Now once you’ve melted your butter, you do not want it to
be too hot when you add your sugar, so let that cool for a couple of minutes
until it’s no longer warm to the touch. Once it’s cooled, like mine has, we can
add our sugar. You’ll need two cups of granulated sugar. We’ll stir together our butter and our sugar until these are completely combined. Now we’ll add two large room-temperature eggs. Two tablespoons of milk and one half teaspoon of vanilla extract. We’ll stir everything together
again until it’s completely combined. One of the things I love about this recipe
is because we are using melted butter, not only are our blondies going to be really nice, and moist, and chewy, but there’s no need for an electric mixer. Now set your butter mixture aside and you’re going to need a separate bowl for your dry ingredients. We’re going to need 2 and 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour. Along with the flour we’re going to add a teaspoon of baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Go ahead and whisk these ingredients
together until they’re completely combined. Now we’ll gradually add our dry ingredients into our wet ingredients, stirring until everything is nicely combined. Now we’re going to be baking our
snickerdoodle bars in a 9 by 13 inch baking pan. I like to use a metal
baking pan. If you use a glass one it might take a little bit longer to bake.
Now you can either grease and flour this pan, or I like to just line mine with
parchment paper. The dough is a bit stiff. So we’re just
going to use our spatula to smooth the batter into the pan, and yeah the
parchment paper is a little wiggly and it makes smoothing the dough a little
difficult, but it makes cleanup easier. Now of course it would not be a
snickerdoodle without that classic cinnamon sugar coating. So let’s go ahead
and make that. You’re just going to need a small separate dish, and into that dish
we are going to add three tablespoons of granulated sugar, and one and a half
teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Whisk these together or stir them together until
they’re completely combined. We’ll go ahead and sprinkle this evenly over our
batter. Now we’ll bake these in our 350 degree Fahrenheit preheated oven for about 25 to 28 minutes. I do recommend letting these snickerdoodle bars cool
before you go ahead and dig in. And take a look at that. They are so buttery and
soft. This one’s actually still a little bit warm, and I have no regrets about
cutting in a little bit early, but I think there is no mystery as to why
these snickerdoodle bars have gone viral, and they have been shared so many times.
I think you’re going to love them just as much. If you guys try this recipe out
please let me know what you think. I always love hearing from you. Thank you
so much for watching and I will see you next time. This is good.
