How to Make Chocolate Cupcakes – Easy Homemade
Chocolate Cupcakes Recipe Hello and welcome to In the Kitchen with Matt,
I am your host Matt Taylor. Today we are going to make a chocolate cupcakes
with a classic cream cheese frosting, mmm yummy, super delicious, super easy to make,
lets get started. First let’s go ahead and preheat the oven
to 350 degrees. For the ingredients we have, one egg, one
half-cup oil, canola oil or vegetable oil, on teaspoon of vanilla, one teaspoon of distilled
white vinegar, we have one cup of water, one and one half cups of flour, one cup of sugar,
one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of baking soda, and one half cup of cocoa powder. All right, now let’s go ahead and combine
our dry ingredients. So I am going to use a sifter, if you don’t
have a sifter that is ok, you can use your whisk. So I am going to put, my flour in here, cocoa
powder, baking soda, and salt, and sugar. Let’s go ahead and start sifting. Some times the cocoa powder gets a little
clumpy so it is worth it to do the sifting. And then I am also going to just for good
measure come in here and give it a nice whisk. Now let’s combine our wet ingredients. So we are going to start with our water, oil,
vinegar, vanilla, and our egg. Then we will take the whisk and we are going
to mix it all together. Ok now let’s start adding our dry ingredients,
so I am going to just go ahead and put that in there, like that, set that aside, at this
point I am going to use my wooden spoon, and mix it all together. So now we want to fill up our paper cups. So what I am going to do is I am going to
use this little fourth cup here, and I am going to just dip it in, and we want to fill
it up about two thirds of the way, just like that. And then you continue to fill the rest of
them up. So this recipe will make 18 to 20 cupcakes. So I will wind up making about 8 more of these. And once you are done, you put this in the
oven, and you bake them at 350 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes. Ok when they come out of the oven they will
look like this. And now we let them cool completely, about
20 to 30 minutes. In the mean time we can make our icing. Ok while our cupcakes are cooling it is time
to make our cream cheese frosting. It is super easy to make. Here are the ingredients, we have 4 cups of
powdered sugar, and we have one half cup or 4 ounces of softened butter, and we have 8
ounces of cream cheese, and we have two teaspoons of vanilla extract. I also have, a zip lock bag with scissors,
and I am going to use this zip lock bag as my piping bag. You can also use a cake-piping bag, professional
piping bag, whatever you like to put the frosting in. So let�s go ahead and cream it all together. I am going to start with my butter, get it
all in there, then the cream cheese, vanilla, and I am going to start with just a little
bit of the powder sugar to start, about half of it. Ok, scrape the sides. Let’s add the rest of this. And when you are done, your frosting will
look nice and smooth just like that. And there we go we are done. All right our chocolate cupcakes with cream
cheese frosting are done. They look amazing, they are super easy to

  2. Hi Matt! I have 2 questions. #1 Why did you sift the sugar? Doesn't that change the sugar, making it a lot thinner (almost like caster sugar) so you end up with a different amount?? #2 Do you have a recipe for brownies. Here is what I'm looking for. A brownie recipe that is not real fudgy but not straight up cake like either. Somewhere in the middle would be great! Thanks.
