Apple Vegan Cake Recipe by Manjula

I will be making Apple Vegan Cake. This is delicious, easy and basic cake. This cake is also egg-less and dairy free. This recipe will serve 8. To make apple vegan cake we will need: 1 cup all purpose flour (maida or plain flour) 1.5 tablespoons corn starch (corn flour) 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg 1/3 cup oil 3/4 cup sugar 1.5 cups of apple sauce 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1 tablespoon powdered sugar for garnishing. So first I will mix all the fry ingredients
together except the sugar. So here is all purpose flour. Corn starch Cinnamon powder Nutmeg Salt And baking soda. Mix it well. All the ingredients are mixed well. So I will keep this on one side and I will
mix the oil and sugar together. Sugar And oil. Mix it together well. Make sure you are using fine sugar. This looks good. Now we are going to add apple sauce
and vanilla extract. Again, mix it well together. Okay, this is mixed well. Now I am going to add dry flour. Again, make sure everything is mixed well. Mix all the ingredients together really well. You don’t have to whip it. So I have already prepared a baking pan,
8 x 8 inch square. And I have already put the parchment paper and oiled it. So just pour this and just shake it so it’s
evenly spread. I have already pre heated the oven at 350
F and I am going to bake the cake for 25 minutes. I am just going to put the timer for 25 minutes. I will take the cake out. Cake is ready. After 25 minutes I did check the cake putting
the knife in the center and it was not done. So I baked it for 3 more minutes. So altogether I baked the cake for 28 minutes. Now let the cake cool off for half an hour
before we will slice. If you slice the cake when it is hot, it does
not slice clean. It has been about 30 minutes. Apple vegan cake has cooled down to room temperature. So I am ready to slice. Apple vegan cake is ready to serve. I have sliced the cake in 16 square pieces
and lightly dusted the cake with powdered sugar. You can also serve apple vegan cake with berry

  4. Is it necessary to add baking soda instead of baking powder? Because the cake's flavour is very acidulous after adding baking soda. What if I add baking powder instead baking soda? Will the cake be swell and soft?

  5. I made this and it had really great flavor. But, I had to cook it for a while longer and next time I think I'll add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder OR 1/4 cup extra of flour.

  8. Great recipe! Also, it is easy to make homemade applesauce, which tastes better than the jarred stuff imo.

    All you need are peeled apples, butter/coconut oil/avocado oil (my preference is coconut/avocado oil), sugar, agave or honey, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, etc). Let it break down in a pot and voila!

  10. Getting ready to make this, thanks so much!! Update: I make it a couple weeks ago, and LOVED it!! I only had self rising flour, so I cut out the salt and baking soda. I also had to cook it about 15 extra minutes, but my stove door is a tad warped (about 1/16 of an inch open gap). It was softer on the inside than this one, but I loved it as it turned out SO much. I'd love it either way. I'm off to make it again now.

  11. This recipe was so easy and delicious! I made my own applesauce by processing a few old apples in my food processor and added a little sugar and cinnamon. Used coconut oil for the oil and ended up having to use a 9 inch glass pie pan instead of an 8 inch square but it still turned out beautifully. Probably could have used a few more minutes in the oven as it came out a little moist and it seemed to be undercooked a little but the texture was a lot better after the cake was completely cooled. SO GOOD and simple! Thank you Manjula! Can't wait to try some more of your recipes!
